Gosh, I still cannot believe Miley turned nine this year!

This year’s party was a little different because of Covid. If you have seen some of the posts for past parties, you know we love birthdays! Since we are in the middle of a pandemic and we didn’t want to risk anyone’s health and have to worry about masks, we had to skip the big party.

Instead we surprised her with a small backyard movie party with the family. We did the party in the evening so the kids could enjoy watching a movie outdoors and roasting smores! It was a blast.

We had an amazing smores cake made, topped with toasted marshmallows! The cupcake stand was filled with smores ingredients. We had different flavored gram crackers and chocolate bars. I went with the traditional red checkered option for the plates, napkins and table cloth. 

There was an outdoor view area with blankets, pillows and haybales. The girls were given popcorn buckets filled with glow in the dark blankets to cover up with. Filled with a bag of popcorn and movie theater candy. They had glow in the dark necklaces and bracelets to wear while watching Hotel Transylvania. 

If you have considered getting a projector for outdoor movies I am here to say, GO FOR IT! It was so much fun. Especially with all the crazy going on right now. It is a fun way to unwind and pretend things are…kind of….normal.
