In 2025, one thing that made a major difference in my overall wellness routine was the Whoop band.
Before that, I had honestly never even heard of it—until my husband bought one. I had heard of the Oura Ring and even considered getting one myself, but to be totally honest, I didn’t love how thick the ring looked and didn’t want something I had to wear on my finger every single day.
What really sold me on Whoop was the flexibility.
The Whoop device is most commonly worn as a wrist band, but they also offer specially designed bras and underwear for women with built-in placements for the device. That means if you’re going to an event or simply don’t want it visible, it can be completely concealed. I personally love having that option—it made wearing the device daily feel effortless instead of intrusive.
Like the Oura Ring, Whoop is worn continuously and provides insight into how your body is functioning. It tracks sleep, heart rate, recovery, and stress, and then offers personalized recommendations to help improve recovery and performance.
What surprised me most was how much I learned about my own body.
I always knew alcohol wasn’t great for me. Hello, hangovers. But seeing the data—how it elevated my heart rate, increased sleep stress, and disrupted my recovery—was eye-opening. Even the following day, I could see the lingering stress it caused in my body. That visual data made it impossible to ignore.
Alcohol wasn’t the only culprit affecting my sleep.
On days when I consumed higher amounts of refined sugar, I consistently experienced disrupted sleep and night sweats—something that’s especially common for women in perimenopause. Again, seeing those patterns reflected in my data helped me connect the dots in a way I never had before.
I’ve also struggled with GI issues, and Whoop helped me better understand how those flare-ups impacted my heart rate, sleep quality, and overall recovery. Instead of guessing, I could see what was happening inside my body.
Once I began prioritizing protein and fiber, the changes in my stats were noticeable. When I introduced new supplements, I tracked them over time to see whether they actually made a difference. That feedback loop helped me stop wasting time on things that weren’t working and double down on what was.
Since using the Whoop device:
I’ve lost over 25 pounds Gained muscle and built strength Improved my sleep quality Significantly reduced my GI issues
The biggest shift, though, has been awareness. Whoop didn’t do the work for me—but it gave me the information I needed to make better decisions consistently.
If you’re thinking about investing in a wearable like the Oura Ring or the Whoop band, I genuinely recommend it. Having real data about how your habits affect your body can be incredibly empowering—and for me, it was a total game changer.
