What is Manifesting?

,

Manifesting is definitely a buzz word at the moment. You see it on blogs, podcast, books, Tik Tok Reels…Everywhere you turn someone is telling you how you can manifest anything you want.

But manifestation isn’t some new Tik Tok phenomenon. Manifesting has been around forever. Remember in 2006 when The Secret hit shelves? Or back in the 80’s when Easter Hicks gave us lessons on the law of attraction through channeling? Napoleon Hill released “The Law of Success in 16 Lessons” in 1928. The term “Law of Attraction” originally appeared in 1906, when author and publisher William Walker Atkinson published “Thought Vibration or the Law of Attraction in the Thought World.”

But really, manifestation can be traced back to various philosophical and spiritual traditions, such as Hinduism, Buddhism, and Taoism. These traditions see manifestation as a manifestation of the power of the mind or consciousness.

Manifesting is the act of bringing a tangible desire or goal into reality, often by putting intentional energy into bringing these goals to life. The idea of manifesting is sometimes seen as “woo woo”. If you think about it this is something most people believe in. They just call it something else.

You can call it a prayer, a mantra, an affirmation, a spell. You are sending out energy to the universe, or God, in the form of words with hope to make a change and bring something into fruition.

The mind is capable of making miraculous, magical things happen. There are an abundance of studies on the ability of the mind. We have the power to change our circumstances if we believe. If you’re interested in the science behind manifesting, you should check out books by Dr Joe Dispenza. Here is the Link to a great podcast that will give you a quick overview.

But, manifesting isn’t just saying you want to get a new job, lose weight, find love and then it drops in your lap. You need to do your part and put in the work. You need to believe that what you want is possible. Letting go of your negative beliefs and focusing on the good things in your life as it is, will help propel you into creating the life you want.

It took me a long time to understand that I was holding onto beliefs that were holding me back. I was dwelling on the things I wanted to change, instead of enjoying the things that were right. Instead of saying no to things I didn’t really want I would go along with what I believed was expected of me.

Once I started saying no and holding out for what I really wanted things started to turn around. I became clear on what I wanted and how I wanted to feel and I wouldn’t let anything deter me. I created goals and figured out how to achieve them. Read about how I worked towards my goals here !

I manifested a life more amazing than I ever thought possible. I have a relationship that is more amazing than I ever dreamed. I have the job I want. I have the home I imagined for my family. I can’t wait to break down how I manifested my life in upcoming posts.

In the meantime here are some of my favorite podcasts about manifesting!
