Self Love Practices

Love yourself!

Mother’s Day is right around the corner. Mother’s Day is a day to show your mom you love them. Or a day for your kids to show you that they love you. Or maybe for you it’s just another day. The truth is we shouldn’t need holidays to show someone love. Especially ourselves!

The relationship you have with yourself is the most important relationship. You have to love yourself in order to love others.

Seriously. Love yourself. Take care of yourself.

Here are a few habits I picked up over the years to show myself some love.

Journaling – I have kept a journal since I was a kid. As a kid most of the pages were filled with what I had done that day. Pretty surface level stuff. As time went it became my therapy. I shared my secrets, fears, hopes and dreams. Journal is good for the soul. Even if you just write down three things each day you are grateful for. You can learn so much about yourself

Facial Ice Rolling – I have had my roller a few years now. They have since gained even more popularity. I highly recommend one! I use mine at least once a day. Always in the morning. It helps with inflammation, muscle tension and releases toxins. Plus, it feels amazing. It’s a nice little facial massage.

Dry Brushing – Like the ice roller, a dry brush has many benefits. It exfoliates, increases blood circulation, and helps with lymph flow/drainage. I don’t do this daily because I don’t want to over exfoliate, but I typically do it 2-3 times a week.

Yoga- I really really love yoga. I recommend it to everyone. When I got serious about my yoga practice I feel like I became so much more comfortable with my body. I learned to listen to it. I started to understand it on such a deeper level. It is a great exercise practice, but it is so much more than that. If you are getting started check out Yoga With Andrea! She has a free YouTube channel and challenges!

EFT Tapping – Ok, stick with me on this one. Emotional freedom technique (EFT) is an alternative treatment. It’s also referred to as tapping or psychological acupressure. It has been used to treat anxiety, ptsd, and other disorders. I love tapping. If you want to learn more I recommend checking out Gala Darling. I typically follow one of her guided tappings. If you want to mediate but have a hard time with focus give this a try!

Manicures – I don’t get my nails done. I do them at home myself. I have a little nail kit and cuticle oils. I love doing my own nails. I have a ton a different color polishes. I also love Color Street Nails. I enjoy sitting down and taking some time for myself to do my nails. It makes me feel put together and polished.

What are some ways you show yourself love?
