As you may have noticed from my recent post of podcasts I have been listening to, a lot of the content I have been consuming is all about selfcare and self-improvement. Same goes for my list of book recommendations!
I will start with this short list of 5, but I have a LONG list and will share throughout the year. I read/listened to so many books last year and I loved them. I think you will too!
Think Like a Monk – Jay Shetty – I am going to just assume you know who Jay Shetty is at this point. This book he talks about his 3 years living as a monk. He takes what he learned and tells you how you can apply it to your life.
The Subtle Art of Not Giving a F*ck – Mark Manson – This one is the complete opposite of the other “self help” books out there. It’s funny and snarky. Not warm and fuzzy. It tells you to stop giving a f*ck about the little things because the big things that what really matter are what you need to focus on.
The Universe Has Your Back – Gabby Bernstein – Though this isn’t her first book, this was the first book I read by Gabby. After this I had to get the rest! After listening to the others I honestly don’t think it matters which order you read them in.
The 5 Second Rule – Mel Robbins – I loved this! So simple and so effective. Anytime you are doubting taking action count backwards from 5 and JUST DO IT. Don’t want to get out of bed in the morning? Count down and do it! In an argument and want to say sorry? Count down and just do it. Want to work out, but the couch is so comfy? Count down and just do it! Loved the real life stories she incorporated into this book. Thinking about reading it? Count down and get it!
Off with My Head – Stassi Schroeder – Let’s be real, you had to know I was going to have this on my list. If you know me at all or have seen anything I have shared on social media you know I love Stassi. Mistakes, meltdowns, dark passenger and all. Love her. I was so excited when she announced her second book. It walks through the” Cancellation” of 2020 and how she survived and grew as a person. I loved it. Even if you don’t like her as much as I do, it is still a good read and has some laughs.
